Cookie Policy

Test version. Last updated: May 2026.

What are cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies — localStorage — to remember your choices in this app (your profile, preferences, consent decisions).

Categories we use

1. Strictly necessary (always on)

Used to make the app work: keep you logged in, remember which page you're on, and store your answers locally on your device. No consent is required for these under AVG art. 11.7a Telecommunicatiewet.

Authentication (Clerk) — set when you sign in or sign up:

  • __session — your signed-in session token (httpOnly)
  • __client_uat, __client_uat_* — Clerk client tracking
  • __refresh_*, __session_* — Clerk session refresh

Local app state — stored on your device, never sent to a server:

  • everly-profile — your archetype label & color
  • everly-quiz-v2, everly-onboarding-v3 — your onboarding answers
  • everly-user — your name (cache of what Clerk has)
  • everly-last-visit, everly-last-touch — to greet you back where you left off
  • everly-path-order — your saved drag-and-drop module order
  • everly-*-tour-v1 — whether you've seen each page's walk-through

2. Analytics (consent required)

We use PostHog (EU region) to understand which screens are used and where people get stuck — anonymously. Nothing of what you write is sent.

  • everly-analytics-consent — your choice (accepted / declined)
  • PostHog cookies (ph_*) — created only after you accept

You can accept or decline anytime in Profile → Privacy & data.

3. Functional preferences

Remember your language, tone preferences, and dismissed messages.

What we don't use

  • Advertising cookies — none. We don't advertise inside the app.
  • Third-party tracking — none beyond PostHog.
  • Social media pixels — none.

Controlling cookies

You can change your analytics choice in Profile, or by clearing browser storage for this site. Note: clearing storage will also remove any data you've entered locally — see the export option in Profile first.
